چکیده

Background: Prostatic cancer is highly ominous in men and survives hormonal insufficiency. We studied Androgen Receptor (AR) expression various Gleason scores (GS) of prostatic adenocarcinoma by using immunohistochemistry.
Materials methods: This descriptive analytical study was carried out at King Edward Medical University/Mayo Hospital, Lahore 2016. Slides were prepared from 60 paraffin blocks stained for evaluation different parameters like score (GS), histopathological grades (well differentiated, intermediate or high grade) AR immunohistochemistry score. Data entry analysis SPSS version 22. The relationship between determined Pearson chi-square test. A p-value < 0.05 considered statistically significant.
 Results: Out cases, 15 (25%) had 45 (75%) grade tumors. positive 59 (98.33%) cases. Among the 5 (8.33%) +1 score, 25 (41.67%) has +2 29 (48.33%) +3 significant association with GS histological found.
Conclusion: positivity significantly associated Score grading prostate adenocarcinoma, hence it may prove a useful diagnostic prognostic marker carcinoma prostate.

Expression and localization of androgen receptor in the R-3327 Dunning rat prostatic adenocarcinoma.

The Dunning R-3327 rat prostatic adenocarcinoma and its sublines have been developed as a model system to study prostate tumor progression. We have used this system to study the changes in androgen receptor (AR) and AR mRNA expression which occur during tumor progression from androgen dependent to androgen independent growth. Dorsal prostate and all tumor sublines contained a 10-kilobase AR mRN...

Comparison of Matrix Metalloproteinases 2 mRNA Expression in Prostatic Adenocarcinoma and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Background and Aims: Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide in men. Matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) has a role in the invasion and destruction of the basement membrane and the extra-cellular matrix and facilitating the process of tumor cell invasion. The present study was conducted to compare the expression of MMP2 gene in prostate cancer (PCa) and benign prostatic ...

P-231: Androgen Receptor Gene Expression in Azoospermia Men

Background: Androgens are critical steroid hormones in progression of spermatogenesis process and determine the male phenotype that their actions are mediated by the androgen receptor (AR), a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily. In the Androgen receptor, transactivation domain encoded by exon 1, DNA binding domain encoded by exons 2 and 3, hinge region encoded by part of exon 4, and C-te...

Expression of Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor gamma in Prostatic Adenocarcinoma

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ), a ligand-activated transcription factor has been investigated as the target for cancer treatment as well as metabolic disorders. Recent studies have demonstrated that PPAR-γ ligands are anti-tumorigenic in prostate cancer due to anti-proliferative and pro-differentiation effects. The aim of this study was to validate PPAR-γ expression i...

Androgen Receptor Expression in Epithelial and Stromal Cells of Prostatic Carcinoma and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

BACKGROUND Prostatic carcinoma (PCa) derives from prostatic epithelial cells. However stromal microenvironment, associated with malignant epithelium, also plays a role in prostatic carcinogenesis. Alterations in prostatic stromal cells contribute to the loss of growth control in epithelial cells that lead to progression of PCa. AIM To analyse the differences between Androgen Receptor (AR) exp...
